Gemological Appraisal Association has extensive experience in forensic research and consulting. We are most frequently called upon as consultants, appraisers and forensic expert witnesses in insurance, loan, bankruptcy and fraud cases. We also do extensive research and special projects for museums, such as the Carnegie Museum and the GIA Museum in Carlsbad, CA.

Gemological Appraisal’s Director, Donald A. Palmieri, have been under contract with several government agencies, such as the Federal Trade Commission, Internal Revenue Service, U.S. Justice Department, Federal Bureau of Investigation, U.S. Customs Bureau of Investigation, U.S. Customs Bureau, and U.S. Secret Service. International government agencies include: The Royal Canadian Mounted Police and the Ontario Attorney General. Donald A. Palmieri and Gemological Appraisal Association has also provided forensic services in Singapore and the Bahamas.
